The Declining Credit Balance (DCB) Meal Plan offers students
the flexibility to eat when and where they desire, choosing
between the two locations on campus, the Dining Hall and Café
a la cart in the Campus Center. Resident Students begin each
semester with a balance of $1400. For your convenience, a
Meal Plan Budget Card is offered here to be used as a guideline
to assist resident students in budgeting their Declining Credit
Balance Funds.

FAQ’s
Q. I am a resident Student, what are my meal plan
options?
A. All resident students are automatically enrolled in the
Declining Credit Balance (DCB) Meal Plan. Each semester,
students have $1400 to spend in the Dining Hall and/or Café
a la cart.
Q. I live off campus, what are my
meal plans options?
A. Non resident Students as well as Faculty and Staff are
eligible and encouraged to open a Beacon Bucks account.
Q. Will the balance on my meal plan
rollover each semester?
A. Any remaining balance in a resident student’s debit
card account shall be retained by the student from the Fall
to Spring semester. A resident student’s unexpended
balance at the end of the Spring semester of the academic
year will be either retained for use during the next following
Summer program in which the student is enrolled, or forfeited
at the end of the Spring semester if the student has not
enrolled in a Summer program.
Q. May I add addition funds to my
meal plan if I run out of funds before the semester is over?
A. Any resident student wishing to add additional funds
on their card may do so at any time.
Q. May I treat guests on with my meal
plan DCB and / or with my Beacon Bucks?
A. Yes, it is your meal plan and / or your Beacon Bucks,
which you may use as you wish to pay for guests and/or family.
However, please remember this will result in a more rapid
depletion of your funds.
Lost Meal Cards
Please report any lost meal card to Campus Security immediately.
Using your Meal Card
Your SMCC College ID Card can be your ticket to the outlets
on campus. With the purchase of a Beacon Bucks account,
simply present your ID when you visit for meals in the Dining
Hall or Café a la cart in the campus center. Each
time, your purchases are deducted from your balance.
Please treat your SMCC student ID (meal plan
card) as a credit card. DO NOT lend it to anyone or borrow
one from someone else. Fraudulent lending of your ID card
will result in your ID being confiscated and sent to Office
of Housing and Residence Life for further action.
